David may seem like an innocent sweet songstress from Heaven, but our inside source says he has a calculating, overbearing, stage dad from HELL! We still endorse him wholeheartedly but, we wanted to share a story from our inside Star Search source, when he won round 1 at the age of 12. According to our reliable source his father was BANNED from the set:
David’s father Jeff Archuleta, was really creepy and overbearing. He pushed all his kids to the side and would only focus on David and his career. When it was down to the final contestants for Star Search was when he really started losing it. Jeff couldn’t bear to see David lose, so he started HARASSING the other contestants.
He cornered David’s biggest competition, Tiffany Evans, in the green room and intimidated her, telling her she’d lose to David. No one knew about it because Tiffany didn’t tell anyone at that time. It wasn’t until later that night, when Jeff Archuleta started calling all night and harassing her in her room that Tiffany and her parents told producers. It became so intense that the producers of Star Search had a meeting and BANNED him from the lot. The only performance that he was allowed to attend was the finale. (He was sat near security)…. David lost in the end to Tiffany Evans and she got the title!
Here’s Tiffany Evans the little girl who survived the attacks of Jeff Archuleta, and went on to win the Grand Champion title.
Luckily, David Archuleta is the next American Idol so we probably won’t see a repeat, and Jeff learned his lesson.
David went on to sing “Imagine” (yes, the same arrangement he sang on Idol) on a local morning program, but was never signed with a record deal.

I met Tiffany Evans’ mother several times in New York through a good friend of hers that I worked with. This is complete common knowledge. Her friend, with whom I work got us all excited about Star Search and always came in talking about Tiffany every morning after the show. She even had a picture with Tiffany’s mom and some of her sisters on her desk. She told us of the incident with Archuletta’s father at the time, although I don’t specifically remember that she was referring to Archuletta but who else would it have been. It was something that really freaked freaked out the parents because he got her phone number. SICKO!

OK, this is getting way out of hand. I can pretty much confirm that the above story is BS. I was personally involved on the show with Star Search the season David and Tiffany were on. Which were 2 different “seasons”, all within a couple of months of each other, then the Final Battle of Champions where Tiffany did in fact win over David and Mark the Phillipino kid. However, the majority of the story is a bunch of BS. David’s dad was never banned from the set and I also know for sure that the Jr. contestants were pretty much only together during school time. The parents were also kept separate most of the time with their kids so I don’t see when he could have had the opportunity to “threaten” her.
The other thing that pretty much confirms this is that the next year David was invited back to be in the Winner’s Circle which was a year later in 2004 and was on the show a bunch more episodes and his dad was his guardian as well. Star Search would never have invited them back if that other stuff would have happened. I know the way they work and the producers of the show would have never invited back someone who had done anything even remotely creepy.
Anyone that works in this business knows that there are always people who want some attention and are nobodys and are just desperate to make themselves look important, and make up stories that are pure BS.

I don’t know what Star Search some of these people claim to have worked on, but I worked in the Talent Department for the re-vamped Star Search in 2003. While I didn’t witness any exchange between Tiffany and Jeff Archuleta, I can absolutely confirm that he was banned from the set and Hollywood Center Studios, the lot from which the show was broadcast. I even remember all the signs hanging in the guardshacks at all the gates. A photo of Jeff with a “Banned/Beware” warning attached.

Why is it that there are people who want to believe stuff like this even when people who were there and know what happened refute It? I am amazed that someone who read the comments above about the person who was there for both seasons states what they know happened, but the persons after would rather choose to believe something that doesn’t have any credibile source and within the very story shows they don’t even understand how Star Search was run. If each family is separated in a completely different area, how could a parent get alone with another parent’s kid? It can’t happen. Also, the person making the accusations doesn’t even seem to understand that there was no “finals”, that was a special one night competition for all the pervious season champions. They were on separate seasons and each won $100K altready so I don’t think it even makes sense that any of the 3 kids would be that worried about a one night show after having already won $100K. They never competed or were with each other until that one only episode of Battle of the Champions. For those of you still choosing to believe this BS, why would you rather believe gossip and trash talk than a confirmed comment by someone who was there, I just don’t get it? Amazing how gullible some people are, this is why the tabloids do so well. People want to believe the lies rather than the truth because sometimes the truth is not as interesting or controversial and doesn’t sell as many papers. I think again, people who know someone who knows someone seem to be playing the telephone game and more and more is distorted as it gets passed down the line until the final product doesn’t even resemble the truth. I truly feel sorry for David and his family for having to be in an awkward position like this where they aren’t even allowed to defend themselves due to the rules of no talking to the press. I also noticed that ET Online has no sources for their report, nor does LA RagMag. “reliable sources, sources, reportedly, allegedly, let’s see, what else can you say when you know you’re promoting something that most likely to be nothing more than a story to create controversy for the kid who is winning the hearts of most of America?

addition to the 100,000 they won on their season. So the pressure was definately there.
Jeff is still the same guy he was in the SS days. He has not changed at all. To be honest, I dont even think David wants to be doing any of this. Never has……
Also,…all those videos that show Jeff in the audience on SS….those were from 2003 when David won his season. He was later on SS in 2004 when they brought back the winners and had the winners circle. Then Jeff was banned. Everything being said about him is spot on.

Also, why would they have invited David AND HIS DAD back for another season in 2004? Interesting link from “ohh no”. From Mr Archuleto senior’s comments and advice there is no doubt that JA , who goes under the name of Archjazz, is indeed a “pushy” theatrical father. He has obviously conducted a “shock and awe” type campaign on behalf of his son and his forensic attention to research is quite breathtaking.

I think some of you who do not believe the “theatrical father from hell” theory are slightly more than naive.
As you can see, I am from the U.K. and we love David over here, he has such a beguiling innocence and what a talent ! We have also watched the parade of overbearing, pushy and manipulative mums and dads in the US who have pressed the destruction button on their kids whether it be youngsters in beauty pageants or wannabe pop stars. Britney Spears springs easily to mind.
Hopefully David Archuleta will not end up this way, he doesn’t deserve it.

i knew it because hisschoolmates told that his father is very strict when it comes to the “singing thing:” his father picks the songs, makes david practice all day and night long… his father gets angry at him …. i dont know if this is true i just shared this to you and i knew the information before the rumours about his dad explodes i knew all about this a month before so there is no way that this is a hear say make up story also his father would lock him in the room where there is no tv or any other forms of games and fun only mic, piano, musical pieces and intruments etc!…
