Adam Carolla

Adam’s baby, his pilot, was picked up by CBS and tossed around all summer until they settled on some other stupid shows that nobody watches now. I remember him being upset when the fall line up didn’t include “Ace In The Hole”, but Adam doesn’t take no for an answer and understands Hollywood network heads aren’t as smart as they think they are.

Ring ring on the phone, it’s NBC, who are dying for some quality laughs in their struggling primetime, and now the Carolla project is now coming to a TV time slot near you!

The Carolla project will feature the comic as a contractor and father whose life is turned upside down when his wife leaves him. Carolla is set to exec produce the multicamera sitcom along with Kevin Hench, as well as Jimmy Kimmel, Daniel Kellison, Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun.

Carolla and Hench are frequent collaborators, having worked together on Carolla’s pilot “Ace in the Hole,” which was set up at CBS last year.

Here’s how it works in Hollywood…. CBS optioned his show last year, paid for the pilot, and turned it down. So as the creator of the show you get to shop it around to other networks and get paid for the ‘option’ if they like it again! Some people shop the same idea and get it optioned for years and it never sees the light of day.

Adam knew he had something special, and now so does NBC. Maybe he’ll let us have a walk on role as gay neighbors who complain about him using his Grease Monkey driveway as a mechanic shop.

Thank god, a comedy I might actually watch. You have to love what Adam has done over the last ten years (radio, TV, Podcast, movies).

Its about time someone got some sense and picked this up. No doubt with those writers it’ll be ‘ace’ (pun not originally intended).
