To Q:

He definitely should have come out from the get-go. I would have respected him more had he done so. A confession from him may have limited his chances with American Idol but, at some point, someone is going to have to be out right from the start, it would have been nice if he'd have had the guts to do so.

I have a suspicion that American Idol won't let The Gays comment on being gay for some reason. Wasn't Jim Verraros censored regarding his sexuality?

Love him. Not only could he stand alone on just his talent, but he is so good looking and personable. Love him. I wish him well.

To Dave.

I understand what your saying, but I think HE used the I'm gay/not gay for his own for his own selfish purposes just to win Idol. Hoping to get the Gay vote. When there were was so many news channels trying to figure it out. He should have just come out and said it out right.

Dear Q,

You should care. We all should care. The reason we should care is that, by remaining closeted and not admitting his obvious homosexuality, he was sending the message that being gay is something which needs to be ashamed of and hidden. He has become an idol, figuratively and literally, to young people who need a role model to show them that gay people don't need to hide and that they should feel like they can be themselves.

For a long time Adam was claiming that he wanted to show America that people should be themselves, yet he wouldn't answer the question. He was elusive (most likely to provide Rolling Stone their exclusive) and it was being dishonest and, most certainly, not being himself.

I understand that it shouldn't matter, but until we have equality and we don't have kids killing themselves because they are afraid of people not accepting them, and until we no longer have hate crimes, and discrimination, it does matter. One day being gay will be no more noteworthy than being tall or blond or left handed. Today is not that day.
