The imaganitive execution of the story book characters comes from a blend of crazy make up talents with a little help from digitally enhanced features. Look at Johnny’s Mad Hatter eyes which are enlarged and yellow, Helena’s Queen Of Hearts head is digitally enhanced to show her huge ego. Giving it a Black Hole Sun type feel I think is going to make the kids pee their Under Roos. What audiences are most anticipating, and Burton fans like me, is seeing the usually macabre creativity of Tim Burton in vivid COLOR. No black and white spirals anywhere from what I can tell.
I never read the book so I don’t know much about Anne Hathaway’s White Queen character who was overthrown by her sister the Red Queen but Hathaway says, ‘She’s cute, but psycho. Things even out.’
