Last night we went to Mann’s Chinese Theater to buy our VIP seats for Harry Potter, and that’s when we saw the D-Box tickets. D Box tickets are new theater seats that rumble, vibrate, tilt, and swerve along with the magic of Harry Potter. KA-WHAT!!! I need six please Mr. Ticket Man before I spontaneously combust right in front of your underpaid face.
D-BOX Motion Code™ » uses motion codes specifically programmed for each film, TV program or video game, which are sent to a motion generating system integrated within either a platform or a seat. The resulting motion is perfectly synchronised with all onscreen action, creating an unmatched realistic immersive experience.
It’s like someone put the imperious curse on my plush seat and my wallet. When Harry flys over the Quidditch field, your seat flys along while everyone else who only paid $12 dollars have to sit there, stoic. My friend Jasmine’s first question was ‘Will I get motion sickness?’, and I had to explain to her it’s more like a vibrating massage chair than a Six Flags Rollercoaster.
But when you’re not expecting your wand to vibrate along with theirs whenever they cast a spell, it can feel like you’re playing Operation. Only six theaters in the country have them, and if the movie gets too long and boring, which it won’t, you can pleasure yourself in the chair.
You can try hoping on this Nimbus 2000 Theater seat if you’re in Hollywood and close to Mann’s and want to take it for a test drive.
Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!
