Tyler Perry, Queen Latifah, MoNique Were Molested

Picture 6My God people who are watching your kids!?

I don’t know what’s in the air today but we have three actors confessing that they were molested as children. Tyler Perry, you know that guy who loves to dress up as old lady Madea, shocked his fans today with not one but TWO stories of being molested when he was young. Once when he was 10 by a woman which he goes into explict detail about, and once by a man at his church who came back to haunt him many years later.

I went over to play with her son and Matchbox cars. She opened the door in skimpy lingerie. There was a man sitting on the couch, smoking. She told me that her son was in the bedroom. I was there playing with him about 20 minutes when I heard the man arguing with her. He said he was leaving and slammed the door. She came into the bedroom and told me that I had to go home. She told her son to take a bath and she locked him in the bathroom. I was at the front door trying to get out, when she came in and laid on the sofa and asked me if I wanted the key. I told her I had to go home as it was getting dark. She put the key inside of herself and told me to come get it, pulling me on top of her.

Without elaborating on what seems to be another molestation incident, he mentioned “a man that I knew from church when I was a kid” who had died broke and whose family asked Perry to pay for the funeral. “I quickly said no, but I wish I would have said yes. There is something so powerful to me in burying the man that molested me,” Perry wrote. “I would have dug the grave myself.”

For some reason, the story about the male seems to ring truer than the one with the woman hiding the key to the front door in her coochie.

Not to be outdone by Tyler Perry, Queen Latifah also came forward to tell her fans that on her new album, there’s a song all about her molestation by a babysitter when she was only five years old.

“It was important for me to write that, to get it off my chest. And to discuss it with a therapist, and tell my parents — which I did, eventually, though it took me about 20 years. And hopefully it will be helpful to someone out there who has gone through a similar situation. [The incident] left me not knowing how to deal with certain things. Boys can put pressure on you, and I didn’t do so well with saying no. I had a lot to figure out, and I did eventually, but it was tough. We have to do a better job of looking out for our young girls, because there are predators out there.” — Queen Latifah

Oh and don’t forget Monique who was also molested by her brother, who denied it to his parents, but later grew up to moleste another girl and go to prison for it for 15 years.

“He still acts like he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. So screw hurting your feelings. You need to get your feelings hurt, and you need to get some help.”

MoNique & Tyler are both starring in the new film Precious which deals with the same issues of molestation and love out this November. The film is already gathering Oscar buzz, especially for Monique’s performance as the alcoholic mother, and also stars Mariah Carey.
